Female Northern Harrier, Sachuest Point NWR

I finally was able to get out and do a little bit of shooting this past weekend. I headed down to Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge in Middletown, Rhode Island in hopes of photographing some harriers. Luckily there were a few in the area actively hunting, and I spotted one before even getting out of the car. These two images were taken right near the visitor center while waiting for one to pass by. Although not anything special, I was just pleased to photograph this species for the first time.

  1. Nice to see a couple of shots from you Josh. Very nice flight shots and a bonus that this is a new species for you.
